Well Rounded Tattoo Artist

I’m sitting here waiting to get tatted (nothing new; this will be my 8th time)
Lol I just never know how to feel when certain songs come on…not trying to be funny either but it gets real weird in the atmosphere sometimes
Today my tattoo artist is white (as it usually is) this is the third time I’ve come to this studio and they usually have on rap music (not the edited Version either) so when certain songs come on with certain words in it (you know what I’m talking about) I wonder 1, if they feel weird listening to it in the presence of a person of color and 2, of they wish they could sing along “cause this they jam”
Cause the guy that’s doing my tattoo is sitting here whistling the Kanye west song that’s playing

Baby Steps

I sit here on my bedroom floor to deliver to you confessions….confessions of a vegetarian

What am I confessing you may ask?  Well I haven’t murdered anyone if that’s what you’re guessing.  No, my confession is much worse.  [i’ve recently had a small craving for meat] *totally ashamed* especially since I wouldn’t even go so far as to call it a ‘craving for meat’ really its just a curiosity.  I mean there’s so much stuff I never got to try before I crossed over to the v-side.

Like this doughnut burger for instance.  I was laying in bed the other night and I was just like ‘dang; i wonder what that tastes like’ And sure, I can always make the vegetarian version [which i plan to do this weekend]

But it won’t look like this one <while I’m sure its delicious, it doesn’t look very appetizing>

but still.  Or even stuff that I almost miss eating until I remember that now that this point in my life I get sick from even smelling it most days

[but i never did get a chance to eat my final Big Mac]

*sighs of relief* that was a close one lol

Don’t worry; I’m stepping away from the ledge; I’ve come too far to turn back now.  Now if only I could give up cheese I could be a full vegan…My day will arrive eventually but until it does I’ll keep up the good fight

*When Vegetarians Grow Up, They BECOME Vegans*

Something Wrong With This Picture

Hello world!

So I was about to write something about my vegetarian confession but I feel as though this current topic is WAY more important at the moment <but don’t worry my confession is still coming>

His name is Byron Thomas <AKA> @GoGreen58 in the YouTube community.  Notice anything strange?  Yes; I’m referring the confederate flag hanging behind his head on the wall.  I saw the video and was curious as to what this dude had to say and even more curious as to why someone of color would even be in a picture or video with this flag…so I clicked the link.  “Should everyone with a confederate flag be judged as a racist?”

As I watched his video I was not only upset but concerned for him.  He spoke of how the generation before us is always trying to push their ways onto us <which is true; but also in some instances quite necessary> and he said how he saw this flag in a positive light and asked an almost rhetorical question “am i racist” <I almost completely switched channels but I decided to watch a few more of his videos because maybe he had a point that would soon become clear> but to answer his question “No.  You’re just confused as all get out”

Of course he proved me wrong….

But before I continue on about the rest of his videos that I watched; lets have a short history lesson shall we?

Now; lets talk about this flag for a second or two.  Surrrreee, it started as a symbol for pride and hertiage..something to be proud of and excited about <if you were someone from the south, unless you were a slave> and there’s nothing entirely wrong with that concept.  However [comma] it wasn’t until 1956 when shit got real.  See, about two years after the Supreme Court decision in the Brown vs. Board of Education case, someone decided it would be a lovely idea to start using this as a symbol of protest [and most importantly as a sign of hate].  But there’s nothing wrong with it?

Here’s another example though since some of you might be thinking I’m just being crazy or whatever

Yup. the swastika.  See majority of the world is ignorant to the fact that this symbol started off being used by many ancient cultures to mean life, sun, power, strength, and good luck.  But once again someone decided to take something that was halfway decent and turn it into something negative.  I mean I don’t see any Jewish people and anybody else whose family or ancestors suffered from the Holocaust wearing a swastika but I constantly see Black people trying to justify the use of the confederate flag or that still use the n-word towards each other <but that’s going into a whole other conversation that I’m saving for later>.

I guess the point I’m trying to make here in comparing the two is that once something has been used for such evil there’s no turning back…you can’t take something so negative and make it positive again.  And people try and say that they are “moving forward to the future” and to “leave the past in the past” [both of which were said by Mr. Thomas in his video posts] but they are steadily trying to ‘re-invent’ what already exists.

Now to continue on with the last few videos of his that I watched…

I almost died…this man had the pure audacity to sit there with this flag now tied around his head, and say “Disney needs a Black Prince Charming” I mean I didn’t know how to feel about that….

The last video of his that I watched was “The Word African-American Needs To Go”.  Now while I myself do not self-identify as a African American [because I would rather identify as being Black for various reasons] his logic was just totally off…

*And I’ll leave you with that last thought because his confused ass has opened up a can of worms for an upcoming entry.  So stay tuned*

Bad connection?

I’m not you’re entertainment so don’t text me just because you’re bored because I don’t know you like that yet <and especially don’t text me if you’re not gonna carry on a conversation>!!!

Like i don’t understand what is wrong with people <well really this one person>.  He’ll text like “hey whats up?” or just now “hey; you up?” so of course I’ll reply but my phone doesn’t ring again…like seriously???  Is there something wrong with my phone or is it just a bad connection?  Cause any other time this happens with anybody else its usually cause I forgot to press send; not this time though; i just checked…

A while ago my LS was talking to me and another one of our sisters and she said she didn’t continue on relations with dudes who texted her as their first conversation.  I’m slowly starting to see why she would do that.  its just really annoying but even more annoying than a person with bad text etiquette is someone with bad phone etiquette that will just sit there breathing on the phone.  That’s why i prefer in person least then i can play off my awkwardness or  try and find something as a distraction if they’re awkward.

Anywho; i’m still stuck on the notion that i intimidate this dude.  i mean what else could it be?
